OCU's Haiti Relief Efforts Continue with $25,000 Raised
Greetings from Ohio Christian University,
Thank you for a tremendous response to the Haiti Crisis. To this point we have had contributions from many of our churches and many people in Western Pennsylvania, the hometown of one Haiti missionary couple. You helped to raise $25,000. This included many student fund-raisers--OCU students worked so hard.
So what is happening with the dollars?
- We helped pay for medical supplies to be sent through Missionary Flight International-- NASCAR owner Rick Hendrick donated a plane and our supplies were sent through MFI saving many dollars. MFI is able to fly one time a day to Haiti.
- Thad Hicks, OCU Disaster Relief Coordinator, went with a Medical team to Haiti and took supplies. Your dollars sponsored this.
- PRAY HARD: We are sending a team to begin work on debris removal, painting, and light construction. We will again take in medical supplies. We will also do a ministry component involving evangelism and/or discipleship. As of now it looks like the best days for us will be May 25 - June 1. Our group will consist of 12 people, mostly students. We need prayer for their safety from so many deadly diseases.
Again, OCU students are going to serve because of you. As you give, we will send more teams. Give online today or call 740-420-5903 for more information.
Thank you so much.
