OCU Faculty Publish Books
Dr. J. Russell Frazier
Dr. J. Russell Frazier was published in the book True Christianity: The Doctrine of Dispensations in the Thought of John William Fletcher (1729-1785) which is based upon his doctoral research. The book is intended to reach a wide audience as indicated in the book description as being “for pastors, missionaries, and Christian thinkers on true Christianity from Fletcher, who devoted himself, according to Wesley, to being ‘an altogether Christian.’"
Dr. Frazier joined the Ohio Christian University faculty in spring 2013 and teaches theology in the Master of Arts in Ministry program. He completed his Ph.D. with the University of Manchester in 2011 and also holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Trevecca Nazarene University and Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has a varied background with experience at Bible colleges and institutes as well as pastoral and missionary roles.
"For the last several years, I have focused upon a study of early Methodism and Wesley studies. So, it is my special joy and privilege to serve OCU in its mission to prepare students 'by providing a holistic, Christ-centered, biblically integrated education in the Wesleyan tradition.’"
Dr. James Tino
Rev. Dr. James Tino was published in a book of mission stories Meeting Ananias and Other Eye-Opening Stories of Faith. For more than 25 years, Pastor Tino has been inspiring people in congregations and classrooms around the world with real-life examples of God’s grace and power at work. Dr. Tino joined the OCU faculty in 2010 and teaches worldview and missions courses. He completed his Ph.D. in Missiology and Master of Divinity with Concordia Theological Seminary.
In his book, Rev. Tino shares ten of his best stories, full of lessons he learned from God while serving as a missionary in Venezuela. The book is a non-profit publication – all proceeds go to support missionaries.
“Sometimes heartwarming, sometimes challenging, these true stories will encourage and inspire you to know God more deeply, and will open the eyes of your heart to understand the Word of God in a way that is fresh and invigorating.”
