Student Loan Programs

Supplemental Loan

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Must be enrolled at least 2 hours per semester, pursuing a degree
  • Minimum of $1,000
  • Must have good credit record or co-signer with good credit
  • Interest rate varies

Subsidized Federal Direct Loan

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Must be enrolled at least half time
  • $3,500 year 1
  • $4,500 year 2
  • $5,500 year 3-5
  • Interest paid by federal government while student is enrolled at least half time 

Unsubsidized Federal Direct Loan

  • Must be enrolled at least half time
  • (Independent students, or Dependent students whose parents are denied for a Parent PLUS loan, are eligible for an additional $4000-5000 per year).
  • $2,000-6,000 year 1
  • $2,000-6,000 year 2
  • $7,000 year 3-5
  • Interest must be paid by student during study or added to principal

Federal PLUS Loan (for parents)

  • Student must be enrolled at least half time
  • Up to the cost of education less any financial aid
  • Variable interest rate determined each July
Ohio Christian University Aid**
   
Church Matching GrantScholarship paid through church funds then matched by OCU.OCU will match student's church contribution up to $500 per semester
Good Neighbor Quality Student Grant/Christian Homeschools Grant Attend a high school in one of the following counties: Pickaway, Ross, Fairfield, Fayette, Pike, Hocking, Madison, Franklin, Licking, Christian School(s) or Homeschool(s)$1,000 per year
Sibling GrantMust be claimed as a Dependent$250 per sibling per semester
