Sports Management Students Gaining Hands-On Experience
Recently, a group of 10 students in the Sports Management Program visited the Nutter Center at Wright State University for a behind-the-scenes look at how an event is run, before and during the actual event.
"We were able to help students learn more about making connections with people and how important networking is," said Sports Management Professor and Head OCU Soccer Coach, Josh Murton.
The Sports Management Program also recently attended the Columbus Blue Jackets Job Fair where they were able to listen and interview a panel of high executives from some professional teams along with interviewing for many internships.
"It helps them immensely with networking, but it also helps them understand what the Sports Mangement career really entails," said Murton.
These activities are working with several Sports Management students already having internships lined up this summer with the Columbus Crew, the Dayton Dragons and a tennis school in Florida, with another student interviewing with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Browns.
