In order to provide parishioners with sound biblical  \n teaching\, pastors and teachers must have a solid Bible study method  \n themselves. The purpose of this workshop is to provide pastors and teachers  \n with principles\, practices\, and access to resources for their personal Bible  \n study and lesson preparation. Gerald Mershimer\n \n Gerald is Assistant Professor of Bible and Preaching at Ohio Christian  \n University where he has enjoyed teaching and mentoring students for the past  \n five years. Before coming to Ohio Christian University\, he had been involved  \n in pastoral ministry for over twelve years. Gerald continues to accept as  \n many requests to preach as his schedule will allow.\n \n Gerald has been married to his wife Nikki for over sixteen years. They live  \n in Lancaster\, Ohio in a home that is bustling with their children Caleb\,  \n Celeste\, Chasidy and Christopher\, along with their nephew\, Allen.\n \n One of Gerald's passions is to give himself to join God at work in raising up  \n a new generation of preachers who love the gospel\, live the gospel and preach  \n the gospel so that broken people may experience the life-giving power and  \n peace of God.\n \n .... Christine Zimmerman\n \n Christine is involved in graduate studies at Regent University\, pursuing her  \n Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. An ACT score is not  \n required if it has been five or more years since high school graduation or if  \n you have 12 or more semester hours that transfer into Ohio Christian  \n University.\n \n For those who haven't taken the ACT\, or would like to re-take the test\, the  \n admissions office has provided the below dates for ACT testing at Ohio  \n Christian University. Please be aware that there is no cost to complete this  \n testing once if you have submitted an application and do not already have a  \n qualifying score. DESCRIPTION:/Kids on Campus/ is a summer enrichment program for students who are  \n interested in improving their Math\, Science\, and Technology skills through  \n exciting\, hands-on activities. Registration for these classes has begun for  \n students completing the 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd\, and 4th grade and continues until May  \n 22nd.\n \n “We lowered participating age to first grade this year\, based upon the many  \n requests we had last year\,” said Christy Mills\, Executive Director of  \n Pickaway HELPS (Higher Education Learning Partners for Students). “We hated  \n to turn them away\, so this year these students can now participate!”\n \n Micah Smith participated in /Kids on Campus/ last year\, then seven years old.  \n When Ohio Christian University President Mark Smith asked what he had learned  \n in math\, Micah replied\, “Dad\, I didn’t learn anything. We just  \n played.”  Smith responded\, “Great teachers make learning fun.”\n \n Tuition is $35 per class\, which includes materials and a colorful t-shirt!  \n *Classes are one week\, June 3-7 or June 10-14\, from 10 am – noon or 1 – 3  \n pm*\, at Ohio Christian University\, 1476 Lancaster Pike (State Route 22)\, near  \n Circleville.\n \n Schedule of classes is as follows: Math for 1-2 graders (June 3-7)\, Science  \n for 3-4 graders (June 3-7)\, Math for 3-4 graders (June 10-14)\, Science for  \n 1-2 graders (June 10-14)\, and Technology for 3-4 graders only (June 3-7  \n morning and June 10-14 afternoon). Flyers are being distributed in your  \n child's classroom with all the details\, so please register according to the  \n grade level they are just now completing. Early registration is important as  \n last year's enrollment was nearly maxed out at 155.\n \n The Math teacher is Linda Diltz\, a retired Westfall Local School District  \n Math teacher and Math Teacher Leader for the district who is currently an  \n instructor at Ohio Christian University. The Science teacher is Rolanda Hurtt  \n who teaches sixth grade science at Everts Middle School in the Circleville  \n City School District. Both teachers hold master’s degrees from Ashland  \n University. The Technology teacher is Ashlee Engel who has been teaching  \n first grade for six years at Pickaway Elementary School.
