DM4202 Emergency Work in Conflict Situations

This survey course will highlight the issues surrounding conflicts and terrorism. Conflicts on all levels, from interpersonal to state, will be addressed in how they cause disasters and how those in the disaster field might intervene. Terror as a means of influencing public policy decisions and in fostering transitions in public power to promote group goals will be examined as well as the issues caused by terrorist acts. 

This course is also offered as a 5 week course through OCU's Disaster Management certificate program.
