Lady Trailblazers Drop one to #1 ranked Kentucky Christian
The OCU women's basketball team traveled to Grayson, Kentucky this week to take on the NCCAA #1 ranked Kentucky Christian University in a Mid-East Region match-up. The first half was all the Lady Knights, taking a 49-32 lead at the half. But the Lady Trailblazers fought back in the second half, chipping away at the lead. With 5:08 remaining in the game, OCU took the lead. KCU responded and knocked down some outside shots and free throws in the final minutes, winning 73-65.
Senior All-American guard Brenda Carter and junior forward Danielle Fleming chipped in 16 points each, which freshman guard Dannyel Butte added 15 points. Junior forward Angela Thorne had a game-high 10 rebounds. KCU was led by senior All-American forward Kristin Hecht with 19 points.
The OCU women (currently 14-3) and ranked #3 in the national poll, will host OSU-Mansfield on Tuesday at 6pm and World Harvest Bible College on Thursday at 6pm.
