I am Dr. Larry Olson. I have been married to Bonnie for 37 years. We have raised two children (our daughter is a school teacher & affiliate faculty at OCU, and our son is a Pastor) and we now have four grandchildren who absolutely are the delight of our lives. I love to watch the NFL and College football. I am an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, hunting and fishing.
I graduated from Ohio Christian University in 1987, with a BA in Christian Ministries, ordained to the ministry in 1988 with the Evangelical Church of North America (ministerial credentials are now with The Churches of Christ in Christian Union), earned a Master of Pastoral Counseling degree from Olivet Nazarene University in 1990, and completed my PhD in General Psychology in May 2008, at Capella University. My dissertation study was entitled “An Investigation of Factors That Influence Academic Achievement in Christian Higher Education: Emotional Intelligence, Self-Esteem and Spiritual Well Being.” Sounds really exciting, doesn’t it?
Starting in July of 2009, I am the Chairman of the Psychology Department at Ohio Christian University as well as the Director of Graduate Studies. In the previous 19 years, I held the position of Vice President for Student Development at OCU. I have taught many traditional and adult courses at OCU and have written a number of course curricula for the AIM program
