Pat Beathard has always loved music. She began her music career at a young age singing with her Mother on Sunday evenings. Influenced by her elementary music teacher, Pat knew by the fourth grade that she wanted to be a music teacher.
Before coming to Ohio Christian University in 2010, to teach music education classes, Pat taught music K-8 in the Adena Schools (Ross County, OH) for 3 years and music K-12 in Westfall Schools for 30 years. In 2005 and 2006, she was named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Pat also teaches voice and piano at Studio One in Circleville, OH and is the accompanist/organist at Circleville Presbyterian Church.
Pat holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Capital University and a Master of Arts from the College of Mount St. Joseph. She belongs to the Ohio Music Education Association, the National Association for Music Education, Beta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Pickaway County Retired Teachers Association, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Friends of the Pickaway County Library.
Pat is married to Jim, a retired motor carrier enforcement officer. Together they have three grown, married daughters who have blessed them with three wonderful grandchildren. Besides music, Pat likes reading, traveling, and writing. She recently fulfilled her dream to write and publish a book, Schools of Yesteryear: A History of the One Room School, which culminates her research of America’s one room schools.
