Give to Live: The Freedom of Being Generous with Your Life
Dr. Stan Toler, General Superintendent for the Church of the Nazarene, and Dave Garrison, host of The Faith & Liberty Talk Show, discuss Dr. Toler’s recent book, Give to Life: The Freedom of Being Generous with Your Life. In particular, Dave and Dr. Toler discuss the many ways that people of faith can make an impact with their finances, their time, their gifts, and their talents. Ken Klukowski is a frequent guest on many major television and radio outlets and best selling author.
Dr. Stan A. Toler is a general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene with an office at its Global Ministry Center in Lenexa, Kansas, USA. He was chosen for the highest elected office in the two million member denomination in July 2009, after serving for 40 years as a pastor in Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.
Dr. Toler served as vice president for John C. Maxwell’s INJOY Leadership Institute for more than a decade, teaching seminars and training church and organization leaders and major corporation leaders, nationally and internationally. Maxwell calls Toler “Mister Relationship.” He says, “Stan Toler has the uncanny ability to see the humor in any situation, capture it in his imagination, and then recount it with the grace and style of a southern storyteller.”
Over one million registrants have been inspired and entertained by his speaking and teaching. Renowned motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said of Toler, “He teaches principles and procedures that will build a church, a home, a business, a community, or a nation.”
In addition to his worldwide administrative duties, Toler is a best-selling author of nearly 100 books, including Practical Guide to Pastoral Ministry; Giving Living, Total Quality Living, ReThink Your Life, and his popular Minute Motivator series. His latest book, God Can Do Anything but Fail, So Try Parasaling in a Wind Storm” is part of a series that has sold over one million copies worldwide.
Stan Toler speaks from his vast leadership experience, as well as from his personal experience—overcoming such obstacles as being raised in an impoverished West Virginia community, suffering the loss of his father in an industrial accident, and leading his family through a major health crisis. Toler has been called a “pastor to leaders,” but all who know him consider him a “best friend.”
Stan and his wife, Linda, an educator and author, reside in Oklahoma City, OK. They have two married sons, Seth (Marcy) and Adam (Amanda), and four grandchildren, Rhett, Davis, Wren and Clara.
