What are the admissions requirements for this program?

Is this program accredited?
Yes. Ohio Christian University is regionally accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) of The Higher Learning Commission, the Association for Biblical Higher Education, and the Ohio Board of Regents.
Are all the courses offered at Ohio Christian University and how long will it take to finish?
The entire program is offered at Oho Christian University. Students taking classes full-time can complete the degree in as little as 2 years.
How do I get my books, and how much homework should I expect?
Books and a syllabus will be shipped out 20 days prior to the class start. Students can expect to have reading and other assignments to complete prior to the class date. Additional homework will be assigned during the class, and students will have roughly 4-6 weeks after the course to complete them.
Do you offer financial assistance?
Yes. Financial Aid is available and can be acquired by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Ohio Christian University’s school code is 003030. Students can also take advantage of a payment plan. Students using the payment plan must have a zero balance in order to register for upcoming courses.
What is the cost?
$320 per credit hour, plus the cost of books for each course
What are the hours for the one-week intensive course sessions?
  • Monday: 1pm-5pm
  • Tuesday - Thursday: 8am-5pm
  • Friday: 8am-12pm
Am I required to take the courses in order?
No. The courses will be offered in a rotation. If you miss one, you can catch the next time around or with another cohort.
How many credit hours are part of this program and how long do students have to complete them?
The program consists of 32 credit hours (20 core hours, 12 hours in specific track). It is possible to complete the degree in as little as two years, but there is no time limit for completion.
Does the MA in Ministry include a concentration or major?
Yes. Students can choose between two tracks, Practical Theology or Pastoral Care and Counseling.
How can I get started?

Students may start courses before the admissions process is completed but must have all pieces submitted by the end of the third course. Pieces which must be included in the file before being considered for admission are:

  • Official transcript from every postsecondary institution attended mailed in sealed envelope.
  • Completion of six semester hours of Bible coursework and three semester hours of theology coursework or its equivalent (can be in process).
  • Completed and signed application for admission and application fee paid (non-refundable).
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Financing secured through a student loan or payment plan.
