Withdrawal and Refund Policy

For Title IV funded students who withdraw completely, the new requirements do not dictate
an institutional refund policy. Instead, a statutory schedule is used to determine the amount of Title IV funds a student has earned as of the date he or she ceases attendance. Up through the 60% point in each payment period or period of enrollment, a pro rata schedule is used to determine the amount of Title IV funds the student has earned at the time of withdrawal.

After the 60% point in the payment period or period of enrollment, a student has earned 100% of the Title IV Funds. For non Title IV students who withdraw from one or more classes, but continue with the balance of their course work for that semester the following refund policy (for tuition only) is used:

  • First calendar week 100%
  • Second calendar week 80%
  • Third calendar week 60%
  • Fourth calendar week 40%
  • Fifth calendar week 20%
  • Sixth calendar week 10%

Note—classes normally start on Thursday, the end of the first calendar week in the next day Friday, the following Monday starts the second calendar week. Refunds (other than Federal Stafford unsubsidized loans above tuition, fees, rent, and deposits) will not be processed until after the sixth week of a semester. Refunds must be requested to the Financial Aid Office.

NO REFUND CHECKS WILL BE GIVEN OUT UNTIL ALL FINANCIAL AID IS AWARDED AND RECEIVED!
