Director of AIM Nursing Programs
Ohio Christian University is seeking a Director of Nursing Programs. OCU is a Christ-centered university in the Wesleyan tradition located in Circleville (near Columbus) with several branch campuses and online education. The Director serves as the academic and administrative officer for the Nursing bachelor completion program, intended for those who are already a registered nurse. This is a new program at OCU so the person hired will design and implement the program and obtain approval from state, regional, and national accreditation agencies. OCU's adult program provides Christ-centered, biblically integrated learning in a format that is relevant and convenient for working adults. Enrollment in OCU adult programs grew 50% last year. Ohio Christian University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Minimum Requirements
- Doctorate required
- Practical nursing experience
- Experience in higher education administration, teaching, and curriculum development, preferably with non-traditional adult learners
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Position Summary
Responsible for providing leadership in curriculum development, assessment, and management of the Nursing programs within the AIM Division. Facilitate AIM classes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to AIM Nursing programs. Supervise assigned professional and support staff. Provide oversight to ensure AIM Nursing programs are conducted in accordance with the academic policies of the University and its accrediting bodies. Ensure Nursing program curriculum and instruction is conducted with academic integrity and rigor.
- Responsible for revisions, rewrites, and text edition changes for existing courses; coordinate course writer, focus groups, and materials for new courses; and coordinate with Tech Support and the Instructional Designer for online courses.
- Provide leadership to the implementation and use of Nursing programs assessment processes/data.
- Participate in state, regional, and national accreditation self-study preparation.
- Maintain institutional relationships with agencies providing venues for clinical practicums.
- Coordinate student grade and policy appeals.
- Review applications for independent study, incompletes, and other academic actions taken on behalf of students.
- Acquire, maintain, and interpret management data.
- Identify faculty development and staffing needs. Assist in initial and ongoing training of faculty.
- Interview and recommend approval/disapproval of full-time business faculty. Interview and approve business adjunct/affiliate faculty hiring.
- Approve faculty payroll and expense reports, ensuring accuracy.
- Serve on committees, councils, focus groups, and task forces as assigned.
- Stay abreast of developments in business and business education.
- Ensure business personnel provide quality service to external and internal customers.
- Assist with student recruiting efforts.
- Oversee facilitator assignments.
- Respond to student and faculty concerns and questions.
- Facilitate classes as part of workload depending upon administrative workload (anticipate 30 sessions/weeks initially).

Qualifications

- Doctorate required
- Demonstrated practical nursing experience.
- Experience in higher education administration, teaching, and curriculum development, preferably with non-traditional adult learners

- Normal office work; no heavy lifting required.
