Glen Este Standout Zach Mager Inks with OCU
CINCINNATI, OH - Head Coach Greg Bigam is glad to announce the addition of Zach Mager to the OCU men's baseball program. Mager joins OCU after a sensational high school career at Glen Este High School where he played for FAVC Coach of the Year, Mike Hatfield.
Mager was a standout player at Glen Este High School and played a big role in his team winning the FAVC title in 2011. Glen Este went 19-3 overall and 14-1 in conference play on their way to the conference championship. Mager was a major contributor on the mound and at the plate for GEHS. Mager went 2-0 on the season with a 2.53 ERA. He tallied 22 strike outs in 19.1 innings pitched. In 2010 Mager was big at the plate as he batted .328 with 3 home runs and 22 RBI's. He was honored as a 2nd Team All-Conference selection in the FAVC for his success on the diamond.
"I chose OCU because of the strong connection with the coaches and staff," said Mager. "I hope to win a National Tournament and become an All-American during my college career and I think that can happen at OCU."
Mager joins a talented recruiting class that will add hitting and pitching depth to an already talented lineup. OCU finished in 4th place at the 2011 NCCAA World Series and is looking to win their first ever national title in 2012.
