Hamilton Township Standout Tyler Brickey Signs with Blazers
CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Head Coach Greg Bigam has a added another impact player to the men's baseball program with the signing of Hamilton Township star Tyler Brickey. Brickey joins OCU after a strong high school career at both Liberty Christian Academy and Hamilton Township High School.
Brickey batted .276 during his junior year with an on base percentage of .400 for the season. He also scored an impressive 23 runs which was the 2nd most on his team. Brickey also enjoyed success on the mound with a 4-2 record and a 3.41 era. He also showed speed on the basepaths as he stole 14 bases during his junior and senior seasons. Brickey receievd All-League and All-District honors in 2009 and 2010 for his accomplishments on the diamond.
"I chose OCU because it will allow my to grow closer to Christ while also playing baseball," said Brickey. "It also allows me to stay in close contact with my friends and family. It is my goal to improve everyday and work towards winning a national championship at OCU."
Brickey joins a very strong 2011 recruiting class that will look to take OCU baseball to a new level of talent and depth. The men's baseball team returns a strong lineup from a 2010 team that finished in 4th place at the NCCAA World Series.
