OCU Baseball Breaks Losing Streak With Win Over OSU Mansfield

After playing a tough stretch of games against Toccoa Falls, Cedarville, Baldwin Wallace, and Oberlin the Blazers got back on the winning track Friday with a 13 to 3 win over OSU Mansfield at VA Stadium.

"We lost some tough games to Toccoa and had Oberlin beat until losing in the bottom of the ninth. Cedarville and BW hammered us pretty good, but we knew we were playing some excellent teams," commented Coach Bigam. "Today helped our confidence and hopefully we can keep hitting like this."

OCU cracked some key hits with Ryan Black, Kelton Sines, Stefan Vasiloff, and Adam Peters all knocking a double to the wall. Max Ray added a single and Brandon Metzgar knocked in two runs with two singles on the day. Ray and Peters knocked in three runs each and Sines drove in two.

Logan Creech and Metzgar shared the mound with Creech throwing two innings and Metzgar three to get the win. OCU hosts Southern State Saturday for a Doubleheader at the VA in Chillicothe.
