OCU Baseball Drops Two to UC Clermont
The OCU baseball squad suffered a doubleheader loss to UC Clermont in Cincinnati on Thursday losing 8-4 and 11-0.
"We played very poorly and hopefully our effort won't carry over to regionals or this season will end very quickly, " summed up Coach Greg Bigam. "We could have a lot of excuses like always having to play on the road, but the bottom line is that we didn't play with any focus and couldn't even make very simple plays."
Brandon Metzgar and Mchael Blevins shared the mound in game one with Bleving getting the loss in relief. The Blazers came from behind to go up 4-3, but gave up a run in the sixth and four in the seventh inning to lose 8-4. Blevins led the offense with two hits and two runs knocked in.
Ryan Black and Christian Lee pitched game two and although UC scored 11, only 6 runs were earned. Max Ray had two hits for the Blazers. OCU is now 12-12 on the year
The Mid East Regionals are scheduled for Johnson Bible College on May 2nd. OCU will try to add a game this week prior to regionals.
