All-District Forward Trey Blanks Joins Blazers
CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Head Coach Curtis Christopher is happy to announce the addition of Trey Blanks to the Ohio Christian University men's basketball program. Blanks joins OCU after a stellar prep career at Tree of Life Christian School in Columbus, Ohio where he played for head coach Joe Arndt.
Blanks helped lead the Trojans to a 16-5 record and 8-2 conference mark during the 2010-11 season and was a member of the 2009-10 team that won the District Championship en route to a 21-4 season. He was a force for his team during both seasons as he scored 9.9 points per game his junior year while shooting 57.9% from the field. During his senior season he tallied 7.9 rebounds per game while also swiping 2.4 steals to help the team defensively. For his effectiveness on the floor, Blanks was honored as a 1st Team All-MOCAL selection in 2011 in addition to being named a 3rd Team All-District selection.
"I chose OCU because I wanted to be a part of a succesful college program on the court and also have the opportunity to grow spiritually as well," said Blanks. "My goals are to become a better player and contribute to the betterment of the team anyway that I can."
Trey Blanks joins an ensemble of local incoming talent from Columbus, Ohio. He joins an OCU team that has made it to three straight NCCAA National Tournaments. The Trailblazers will look to make a run at their first ever national title during the 2011-12 season.
