Mansfield Christian Standout Toris Phinnessee Joins Blazers
MANSFIELD, OH - Head Coach Curtis Christopher is happy to announce the addition of Toris Phinnessee to the men's basketball program. Phinnessee comes to OCU after a highly acclaimed high school career at Mansfield Christian School where he played for head coach Mike Chitty.
Phinnessee helped lead the MCS Flames to the District Championship during his senior season. He was a major factor in the success of his team as he tallied 16.3 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.2 steals per game for MCS. For his solid showing he was named to the Mansfield News Journal All-Star Team as well as the District VI All-Star Team. He was also named as a 2nd Team All-District VI selection in addition to receiving All-Northwest Ohio honors.
"I chose OCU because it is a quality Christian school," said Phinnessee. "I hope to continue to develop as a player while also being a good example of a Christian athlete."
Phinnessee joins a very talented 2011 recruiting class for OCU. The Trailblazers are looking to make a run at the 2012 National Championship after a 5th place finish in 2011.
Toris Phinnessee had 26 points against Danville High School, leading MCS to a 74-68 victory.
