OCU Signs All-District Forward Kenny Cooper

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Head Coach Curtis Christopher is pleased to announce the signing of Kenny Cooper to the OCU men's basketball program. Cooper comes to OCU after a highly touted prep career at St. Frances Desales High School where he played for head coach Blair Albright.
Cooper was a member of the 2010 Desales team that won the District Championship and reached the Regional Championship game. Cooper helped his team to a 22-3 record that season and a 10-0 mark in conference play. During his senior season, Cooper put up nearly a double-double every night with averages of 10.9 points and 9.2 rebounds. He also shot 54% from the field and contributed defensively with 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Known for his athleticism, rebounding, and strong vertical leap, Cooper was selected as both a 1st Team All-League honoree and All-District selection in 2011.
"I chose OCU because it feels like a home away from home. I really like the people that are here and I feel like I belong," said Cooper. "I hope to become the best person I can be and gain a strong education at OCU for the future."
Cooper will add rebounding and athleticism to a strong incoming recruiting class. He will be joining an OCU squad that finished 5th nationally in 2011 and has their eyes set on making a national championship run.
