Two Big Wins Start League Play for Blazers

Trailblazers start second semester with two big wins.  The Holidays are over and non league season is over and the trailblazers of Ohio Christian University came out in a big way to start league play this weekend.  Friday night was a win against OCAC Clark State Community College 88 - 38.  The Blazers played solid defense and shot the ball very well.  Blazers shot 56% from the field, 40% from three point, and 80% from the free throw line.  Junior Guard Michael Farrell got a chance to play early minutes and got a chance to prove himself and did very well.  He led all scores with 20 shooting 8 for 14 from the field and grabbing 7 rebounds.  Sophomore Forward Jeremy Hays played well with 17 points and 8 rebounds. 

On Saturday the Trailblazers beat NCCAA Crown College 88 to 33.  The Blazers defense was the story for the day.  The Trailblazers held Crown to only 22 percent from the field and came up with a season high 19 steals.  On the offensive end the Blazers shot 55% from the field and 47% from the three point line.  Tirrell Cumberland led OCU with 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Tim Baker, Jeremy Hays, and Michael Farrell all scored in double figures.  6' 8" backup Center James Nelson gave very good minutes on Saturday with 4 points, 6 rebounds and 4 impressive blocks.

The Trailblazers are back in action at home on Tuesday against NCCAA Boyce College.
