Canal Winchester Sends Another Player to OCU

Canal Winchester High School has been a gold mine for OCU in signing soccer players. Earlier this year OCU signed defender, Blake Steinbrink to come play in the fall. Now OCU went back to sign another defender in Joey Ramsey. "Joey is a versatile player. We can play him back on defense or up top. He brings an energy and drive to the field that is rarely matched. He's a tough player and will be a great addition to our squad" mentioned Coach Murton.

Joey was a 2nd Team All-Mid State League player in 2008 scoring 14 goals and 5 assists for the MSL Champs. He will be the 4th player to come to OCU along with Blake (Mentioned earlier), Josh Hayes from Fairfield Union and Anthony Delong from Teays Valley. Murton mentioned about recruiting local talent, "We have the talent here in central Ohio without a doubt. If we didn't we would be looking elsewhere. We do recruit in other regions, but a lot of our success will be based on guys here in our backyard."

OCU men open the 2009 campaign at Southern State on August 25th and will open the home game on September 4th against Grace Bible College.
