Dr. Ben Carson - Surgical Pioneer
In 1987, Carson became the first surgeon to successfully separate conjoined craniopagus twins . He led a 70-member surgical team during a 22 hour long surgery that resulted in successfully separating Patrick and Benjamin Binder allowing them to live independently.
“...I became acutely aware of an unusual ability--a divine gift, I believe--of extraordinary eye and hand coordination. It’s my belief that God gives us all gifts, special abilities that we have the privilege of developing to help us serve Him and humanity.”
