A First For OCU Men's Soccer

The Blazer men beat Johnson Bible for the first time in their history 2-1. Also into the history books is the amount of wins in one season and the win streak they currently have. "We're not even warmed up yet" commented Head Coach Josh Murton. "We're not playing to our full potential" he added, "but my staff and I intend to get them there".

Scoring for OCU was Emanuel Harris for his 8th and 9th goals of the season. He was assisted by Jimmy Galvan and also in a surprise, by goalkeeper, Dominic Lehman. "My high school coach won't believe this" gasped Dominic. From a drop kick from Lehman into the JBC third, Emanuel took the bounce and one-timed it into the goal to give Dominic the assist, a rarity for a goalkeeper.

The success of the team is based on the unsung heroes, the defense. "Our defense is a solid unit with (Kevin) Street, (Steven Vogelgesang) Vogel and (Jordan) Wilson. These three have taken great pride in what they do and they will only improve as the days go on." mentioned Coach Murton.

The men play Crown College on Saturday at 2 PM. Crown comes to the game 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the region.
