What is Kids on Campus?
Kids on Campus is a summer enrichment program for students who are interested in improving their Math, Science, Technology, or Visual Arts skills through exciting, hands-on learning activities.

Who May Attend?
Students who have just completed the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade during the 2013-14 school year, and who are motivated to participate in summer learning.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost is $35.00 for the session for the week. The cost includes a Kids on Campus T-shirt and educational materials
Where and When?
Classes are held at Ohio Christian University, 1476 Lancaster Pike (State Route 22), near Circleville.
Schedule of classes is as follows:
- Grades 1 & 2 Mathematics: 10:00 a.m. - Noon or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Grades 3 & 4 Science: 10:00 a.m. - Noon or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Grades 1 & 2 Visual Arts: 10:00 a.m. - Noon or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Grades 3 & 4 Technology: 10:00 a.m. - Noon or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Grades 3 & 4 Mathematics: 10:00 a.m. - Noon or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Meet the Instructors
Mathematics - Amy Happenny
Mrs. Happenny has been a teacher for 23 years at Walnut Elementary School in the Teays Valley School District. She has taught third and fifth grades and is currently teaching second grade. She holds a master’s degree in The Art of Teaching from Marygrove College and has participated in ongoing professional development in mathematics. She loves making math fun and exciting for her students!
Science - Rolanda Hurtt
Mrs. Hurtt has been teaching for 33 years. Twenty of those years were spent teaching science at all grade levels. She holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University. Mrs. Hurtt teaches science at various summer camps in Pickaway and Ross Counties. She is a member of the Science Education Council of Ohio and works closely with teachers in the area to bring hands-on experiences in science to their classrooms. She has a love for science and believes that hands-on experiments are the way to teach her students.
Technology - Ashley Engel
Mrs. Engel has been teaching first grade for seven years at Pickaway Elementary School. She holds a Master of Science in Education Media Design and Technology from Full Sail University. She enjoys incorporating technology into the classroom to create enriched, exciting 21st century learning experiences.
Visual Arts - Amanda Patterson
Mrs. Patterson has been teaching for seven years. Five of those years were spent teaching Elementary Art Education in the Groveport Madison school district. She is currently teaching Preschool at Walnut Street Children’s School in Chillicothe. Mrs. Patterson has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education Pre-K thru 12.
The Kids on Campus program is coordinated by Pickaway H.E.L.P.S. (Higher Education Learning Partners for Students) with support from the Pickaway County Commissioners, Ohio Christian University, and PPG Industries.
