Lady Blazers Lose Heartbreaker to OUC
The OCU women's basketball team lost to OU-Chillicothe last night (58-66). The Lady Blazers were hot shooting in the first half, taking a 29-19 lead at halftime. But the Lady Hilltoppers fought back and tied the game mid-way through the second half.
With 48 seconds remaining in the game, OCU was down by only 1 point, but a bizzare finish that included the officials calling three technical fouls in the last 30 seconds, giving OU-C six free throws, sealed the game for the Hilltoppers. OCU Head Coach Mandy Wray said, "It's the type of finish you hate to see at any level of basketball. When both teams played so hard, to have the officials determine the finish of a game, it's very disappointing." Junior guard Brenda Carter led OCU with 22 points, while junior point guard Ande Renihan dished out 10 assists and pulled down 7 rebounds.
