OCU Senior Heading to University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music

The Music Department of Ohio Christian University is proud to announce that Andrew Compton, an upcoming 2017 Music Education graduate has been accepted with a scholarship award to the Master of Music program in Clarinet Performance at The University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music.

Over the past four years, Andrew has contributed significantly to the culture of musical excellence at Ohio Christian University. He has been an outstanding member of the University Band, Chamber Woodwind Ensemble, and Chamber Singers.  In addition to performing in the ensembles at OCU, Andrew performs regularly in the Heisey Wind Ensemble in Newark, OH. Andrew is a current student of OCU adjunct clarinet professor, Dr. Adrienne Lape.

Dr. Lape teaches clarinet, saxophone, and flute in addition to other music courses and is currently the music department administrative assistant. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The Ohio State University and is an active performer and teacher in the greater Columbus area. Outside of OCU, Dr. Lape is a board member of the Ted Lewis Museum in Circleville, OH and the adjunct instructor of clarinet & saxophone at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Dr. Lape currently serves as a board member and worship leader at her church in Columbus, OH. She and her husband Chris reside in Gahanna, OH with their beloved mini-dachshund Sonata.
