OCU Hosts Annual Leadership Forum

Dr. Ben Carson Speaking at Ohio Christian University 2014 Leadership Forum

Ohio Christian University hosted its 9th annual Leadership Forum on Monday, April 21, 2014, in the Maxwell Center on the main campus In Circleville, Ohio. This year’s event featured a sold-out crowd of 1800 guests with several high-profile guests: Dr. John Maxwell, Dr. Ben Carson, and Senator Rick Santorum.

Dr. John Maxwell--world-renowned leadership expert, New York Times best-selling author, and OCU alumnus--taught on the importance of being consistent in pursuing goals. The key to achievement is to stick with it and break it down to small steps. According to Maxwell, no matter how big the goal, it can be achieved by consistently chipping away at the steps required to reach it.

Dr. Ben Carson—renowned neurosurgeon and philanthropist--challenged those in attendance to educate themselves as service to self and country. He explained that the United States is a nation of, by, and for the people, which depends upon having an educated populace. As a result those who are educated and prepared to stand for what they believe will do the nation a great service.

Senator Santorum--former presidential candidate, founder of Patriot Voices, and NewYork Times best-selling author--pointed out that Christians should live a life that honors God and work to bring about his purposes. God will use the faithful to impact the world. The impact may differ from what you envisioned occurring, but we must trust God and stay vigilant in our pursuit of doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
