OCU Inks Another Soccer Player

OCU men's soccer ink another local standout in Anthony Delong. Anthony, a Teays Valley '08 grad, will be transferring from Columbus State to OCU in the fall to add to an already strong team. "I coached Anthony in high school and after last season I have been on the hunt for a center midfielder to help distribute the ball and be able to control the tempo of a game. His name popped up and I felt he would be a good fit" mentioned Coach Murton.

Anthony is currently 15th All-Time in goals scored and 8th All-Time in assists at Teays Valley. Anthony was awarded 2nd Team Mid-State League for both his Junior and Senior years for which Coach Murton looks forward to seeing what Anthony can do at the next level. "This is going to be a good environment for Anthony. We have a good closeness within our team and our campus is very supportive in our students on and off the field. I am excited to see him here and look forward to working with him."

Anthony is the 3rd signing by OCU Men's Soccer along with Josh Hayes (GK) and Blake Steinbrink (D) this year. "We also have some verbal commitments and we will let you know when they sign" mentioned Coach Murton but added, "and we plan to have those 4 signed here soon." When asked how many are in the works, Murton mentioned, "enough to make us competitive in each position, day in and day out."
