OCU men defeat KCU 7-2
The men faired well against KCU by beating them 7-2. The OCU men jumped out early and never looked back by scoring in the 3rd minute and again in the 14th minute. "This is the third game in a row that we have come out fast and it's good to see as the regular season is coming to a close" mentioned Head Coach Josh Murton.
The scoring for the men came from some unusual names. Kevin Street, who is the teams center defender, had a hat trick, the first of his career. "Kevin is a big reason why we have had so much success these past two years. He's a great soccer player and a great young man. It was good to see him put a few away today" added Murton. Also scoring for OCU was Freshman Dave Blamo with 2 goals. That places him with 16 goals and in the top 5 in the nation. Dexter Chapman, a sophomore, scored his second goal of the year along with Joel Eckert, a freshman.
The men are now 10-3-0, which ties the record for most wins in a season at OCU, the mark set last year. OCU now needs to beat Johnson Bible College on Friday to hold at least a share of the Mid-East Region Regular Season title. Johnson Bible College lost to Crown College tonight 1-3 which could make OCU's game on Saturday against Crown College interesting. The winner of the regular season gets the #1 seed in the Regional Tournament which will be played at OCU on October 29-31. The winner of the Regional tournament goes to the National Tournament which is in Kissimee, Fl on November 13-16
