FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOGAN, Ohio – Ohio Christian University is excited to announce its new campus at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, Ohio. The campus will primarily serve area residents who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and it will be tailored to working, adult nurses. Ohio Christian expects to graduate the first BSN nurses from this location in May 2017.

This fifth Appalachian Ohio location is the first new campus for Ohio Christian in more than a year, and it represents the university’s continued commitment to serving a region that is often overlooked.

Bill Baker, Director of Nursing at Ohio Christian University, expressed his excitement about the new location saying, "This partnership opens up new new opportunities for area nurses to advance their careers — it's a big step forward for the region, and we're so excited to be a part of it."

Eight adult nurses will start their journey from R.N. to B.S.N. on Tuesday night at the new location with the first students expected to graduate in 18-24 months.

Nicole Davis, an Ohio Christian recruiter, who was instrumental in bringing Ohio Christian University to Logan says, “We’re excited for the new opportunities this location gives local residents, especially being so close to Hocking College. Students who achieve their RN from Hocking will be able to move right into getting their BSN from Ohio Christian without having to drive too far.”

Kandy Fizer, Director of Education at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, worked diligently with Davis to get this project off the ground.

Dr. Bradford Sample, Assistant Provost and Vice President College of Adult and Graduate Studies, says, “This is really a multifaceted partnership. A big thank you to Hocking Valley for allowing us to use their facility, and also to Hocking College for continuing to work with us to provide quality educational options. We know this will be a strong partnership, and we look forward to a bright future.”

Ohio Christian University is excited to continue to expand into Appalachian Ohio, so as to better serve Ohioans in the region by providing them with a quality, affordable, Christian education in nursing.
