OCU Welcomes Local Coach to Assist with Men's Basketball

Head Men's Basketball Coach Curtis Christopher recently hired Sky Brusco as Assistant Coach for the 2009/10 Trailblazer season. Prior to coming to OCU, Coach Brusco served two seasons, as head Varsity coach at Fairfield Christian Academy, winning two Sectional Championships and a nomination for Coach of the Year in the Mid-Ohio Christian Athletic League. Coach Brusco began his coaching career as head Junior Varsity coach at Logan Elm High School, serving there for eight years. He also served as Assistant Coach for the Varsity program during that time, participating in six County championships, two Mid-State League Championships, four Sectional Championships, one District runner-up and one District Championship.

Sky graduated from Worthington Christian High School in 1993, where he played basketball. He obtained his teaching certificate and Bachelor's Degree at Otterbein College in 1998. He received a Masters Degree in Education from Marygrove College in 2001. Sky is entering his twelfth year teaching History at Logan Elm High School and resides in Circleville with his wife Nikki.

"I am very excited to be able to work with Coach Brusco this season. I have known Sky for a very long time and have watched him impact young men's lives, and he has had great success with some of our local programs. I am grateful for Sky's willingness to come on staff with us this season and know that we will be better for it," stated Coach Christopher.

"We have a great coaching staff returning to the program this season as well. " Assistant Coach Ben Billman is returning for the third season and is going to be our head JV coach for the second year. Assistant Coach Greg Bryant is returning for his second season and will be helping with strength and conditioning and will also serve as our academic coach. Student Assistant Coach DJ Malone will be returning for his second season as the strength and conditioning coach and Assistant JV coach.
