OCU Women's Basketball Team Picks Up Two More Wins Over the Weekend

On Friday, the OCU women's basketball team defeated regional opponent Freewill Baptist Bible College 58-44. Guard Michel Hughes led all scorers with 27 points, on 12 for 22 shooting from the field, and had 5 steals. Point guard Ande Renihan dished out 9 assists. Freshman post Sarah Peters had a team-high 10 rebounds.

On Saturday, the Lady Blazers hosted the Warriors of Appalachian Bible College. After a slow start, the Blazers took a big first half lead with a score of 35-12. The second half was more of the same, as OCU defeated the Warriors 73-37. Hughes led all scorers again with 27 points, and she also pulled down 8 rebounds and had 5 steals. Freshman Tova Black led the Blazers' defensive attack with 6 steals, and Charie Hicks added 13 points as well.

The Lady Blazers are currently 15-9 overall and 6-1 in the region, and they return to action Wednesday at 5:30pm to host #1 ranked Kentucky Christian University in the Campus Leadership Center.
