Ohio Christian University's junior guard Brenda Carter scored 44 points and had 6 steals as the Lady Blazers defeated the Hilltoppers from OU-Chillicothe in overtime 87-81. Carter broke the single game scoring record, which was set by Michel Hughes' 42 points last year against OSU-Marion. Carter is leading the nation in scoring with 29.6 points per game in NCCAA Division II. The win over OU-Chillicothe was a big one for the Trailblazers, advancing their record to 13-4 overall. The victory was a team effort. Junior forward Rosalyn Fleming added 17 points and 7 rebounds, while junior point guard Ande Renihan dished out 13 assists and had 12 points and 4 steals. Sophomore forward Angela Thorne pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Lady Blazers on the boards. OCU next hosts Wright State-Lake on Saturday at 1pm, and any fan that brings a canned food item to the game will receive free admission to the game.
