OCU Welcomes the Class of 2019

“God has a plan for you.”

Mark A. Smith, President

That’s the message Ohio Christian University President Mark A. Smith shared with the incoming class of 2019 this morning during the opening ceremony at the Maxwell Center. He encouraged the students to rely on God’s provision throughout their time at OCU rather than rely on their own will.

To conclude the ceremony, Dr. Rick Christman led the new students and their parents through a keychain ceremony. He explained how the keychain is a functional tool, but also a symbolic reminder of the three keys to life — a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, openness to learning, and commitment.

OCU’s newest Trailblazers were welcomed into the OCU family with t-shirts, banners, music, food, and smiles. As they embark on this new journey, please join us in praying for this group of young people to rely on God’s provision to persevere in their education.
