Trailblazers Basketball Teams Finish Regular Season
The Ohio Christian University men's basketball team finished the regular season with a big win on Friday over World Harvest Bible College 92-76. Sophomore point guard Tae Spell had a season-high 26 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists. Sophomore Stefan Vassiloff had a double-double with 20 points and 15 boards. Senior forward Dan Garnett added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the win. The Trailblazers (17-14 overall, 9-5 region) head into the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Tournament with the #3 seed and will face the #6 seeded Crown College on Thursday night at 8pm in the Campus Leadership Center.
The OCU women's basketball team finished the regular season 15-11, setting the school record for the women's basketball team with the most wins in a season. The Lady Blazers earned the #2 seed for the tournament, which is also the highest seed the women have ever had in the tournament. They will face #3 seed Johnson Bible College on Friday night at 6pm in the Leadership Center.
The Trailblazers will host the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Tournament in the Campus Leadership Center on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The games on Thursday and Friday will start at 2pm, with the OCU men playing the last game at 8pm each night. On Saturday, the women's championship game with tip-off at 1pm, followed by the men's championship at 3pm.
