NR3000 Emerging Issues in Nursing

This contemporary course examines local, national and global health care issues and trends and their impact on the delivery of health care and on nursing practice. Emphasis is on the nurseĆ’??s role in health care issues.  Topics covered include the evolution of legal and ethical issues, trends in legislation affecting health care, risk management, fiscal/stewardship responsibilities, and the process of collaborative decision making.   Students will also explore non-traditional roles of nursing professionals including parish nursing, disaster preparedness, and nursing missions.
