- May 24: OCU Ministerial Institute presents: "Get the Story Straight"
Essential Principles and Practices of Bible Study for Preachers and Teachers
with Gerald Mershimer & Christine Zimmerman
Do you want to grow in your ability to reflect God's Word in your preaching?
Do you want to connect with other pastors who want to do the same?
Do you want to learn principles and practices that will help you effectively deliver God's Word to your parishioners?
If you answered Yes to any of these questions, you will want to attend the next CEU event hosted by Ohio Christian University's Ministerial Institute!
The Sunday morning sermon or the Sunday school lesson is a significant part of the role pastors and teachers play in "equipping the saints." However, the sermons and lessons do not just materialize; much study and preparation go into the final product. In order to provide parishioners with sound biblical teaching, pastors and teachers must have a solid Bible study method themselves. The purpose of this workshop is to provide pastors and teachers with principles, practices, and access to resources for their personal Bible study and lesson preparation. This workshop is part one of a three-part series on Bible Study Methods.
Meet Our Presenters
Gerald Mershimer

is Assistant Professor of Bible and Preaching at Ohio Christian University where he has enjoyed teaching and mentoring students for the past five years. Before coming to Ohio Christian University, he had been involved in pastoral ministry for over twelve years. Gerald continues to accept as many requests to preach as his schedule will allow.
Gerald has been married to his wife Nikki for over sixteen years. They live in Lancaster, Ohio in a home that is bustling with their children Caleb, Celeste, Chasidy and Christopher, along with their nephew, Allen.
One of Gerald's passions is to give himself to join God at work in raising up a new generation of preachers who love the gospel, live the gospel and preach the gospel so that broken people may experience the life-giving power and peace of God.
Christine Zimmerman

is involved in graduate studies at Regent University, pursuing her Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. She has been employed at Ohio Christian University since graduating from there in 2011, serving in various support roles such as Academic Coach and Tutoring Center Coordinator. Christine currently serves as General Education and Religion Department Coordinator.
Admission is FREE! CCCU pastors in attendance will receive one CEU credit.

- Jul 1 - Jul 27: LifeTraks School of Leadership
Are You Ready for LifeTraks 2013? LifeTraks School of Leadership is once again being held on OCU campus under the combined direction of Live God Loud Ministries (formerly Appalachian Youth Ministries) and Ohio Christian University. Every summer, over twenty-five teenage students between the ages of 15 - 19 spend the month of July devoting themselves to a “Christ- first” mind-set development. These are Christ-centered young people with a passion to use their God-given talents through both ministry and professional career opportunities.
The students attend morning classes that challenge them to become great Christian leaders with a biblical world-view. Some of the classes include Foundations of Christian Leadership, Life Purposes and Leadership, Financial Guidance for Personal Development, Resume Preparation and Computer Techniques, along with other leadership topical classes. Along with the classes, students have daily opportunities to gain professional experience working in Ohio Christian University departmental offices.
Among the highlights of the month is a drama tour that involves the entire LifeTraks team. Tour performances range throughout the Midwest and Eastern states, including performances at Appalachian Youth Camp in Roxbury, PA and OCU in Circleville, OH.
The mission of LifeTraks is to challenge young people to move into adulthood with a Christ-first mentality.
Do you know someone between the ages of 16 and 20 who should be part of LifeTraks School of Leadership?
Contact Tony McCrary, OCU Director of Church Relations at (740) 420-5902 or by emailing tmccrary@ohiochristian.edu.
