Which Course Should I Take?

As a high school student, we recommend you concentrate on general education courses that will transfer into any program track. The course list below shows classes typically offered to high school students. Not all courses listed are offered online or on campus, nor are all classes offered every semester. Additionally, students can take religion courses on campus as self-pay.

Hybrid Courses

Ohio Christian University has adopted a pioneering teaching methodology with hybrid courses. These hybrid courses are only available on the university campus. Hybrid courses integrate in-class learning with the online experience. Students enrolled in a hybrid course will meet weekly in the classroom while also having in-class time substituted with an online format, which could include online lectures, videos, discussion forums and/or other online activities.

Online Courses

To increase access and meet the needs of high school students, many courses are offered online. With online courses, students complete their weekly learning activities in an asynchronous way (not necessarily at the same time as others). These courses are designed with many community features to encourage a social learning environment for students. Features include a homepage with alerts and professor information, course description and weekly assignments, lessons page with due dates and learning progress for each course, my courses page showing all courses currently registered to take, contacts, help tab, personal blog page and communities page which is student based for sharing resources. The online format demonstrates a social learning model with a strong sense of community. Online courses are also compatible with smart phones and ipads for those students on the go!
