All-OCC Big Man and Two-Sport Star Kris Carius Transfers to OCU

COLUMBUS, OH - The defending national champion Trailblazers have added 6'8" and 270 lbs of size to the roster with the recent transfer of Kris Carius.  Carius comes to OCU after one year at NCAA affiliate, Defiance College.

During his prep career, Carius was a standout post player at his alma mater, Westland High School.  During his senior season, he led the way with 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game.  

Following a strong senior year he was named 1st Team All-OCC.  He also took home All-District honors for his solid showing in 2012.

Carius also excels on the baseball field as a pitcher and first baseman.  As a starting pitcher, he tallied an 18-11 record at Westland with a 3.70 ERA.  He threw 6 complete games and 3 shutouts during his prep career and tied the school record by tossing 11 K's in one game. 

He enjoyed success at the plate as well, finishing with a career high .340 batting average during his junior season.  As a senior, he took home honorable mention recognition in the OCC.

Carius joins OCU Baseball and Basketball programs that have combind for 8 National Tournament appearances and 1 National Championship over the past 4 years.
