Blazers Rally to Defeat NCAA Wilmington College 6-5

CHILLICOTHE, OH - Trevor Whitesed's walk off RBI single gave OCU a 6-5 10th inning win over NCAA Wilmington College on Thursday night. OCU fell behind 5 - 1, but rallied for 3 runs in the fifth and 1 on the 6th to tie it up.

Sophomore Mike Miller was big on the mound coming on in relief and throwing 6 big innings while giving up just 2 runs. Miller went on to got the win.

Whitesed's heroics came in the tenth when Avery Sneed led off with a walk. Cory Haner then poked a hit to right and Sneed scampered to third. The Quakers elected to load the bases by walking Evan Werner. With the outfield moved up, Whitesed drove the ball to the left field wall to win it.

Sneed and Haner were big offensively, with Haner notching 4 hits and Sneed 3. Freshman Jayson Perkins continued his improvement with 2 hits as well.

The win was the 6th for OCU, who played a challenging schedule to start the season. The Blazers will prepare to play NCAA D2 affiliate, Urbana on Friday at noon at the VA Stadium in Chillicothe.
