Cincinnati Star Avery Sneed Signs with OCU

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Head Coach Greg Bigam is happy to announce the addition of Avery Sneed to the OCU men's baseball program.  Sneed comes to OCU after a star studded high school career at Cincinnati Christian High School where he played for head coach Bill Lanphier.

Sneed performed brilliantly during his senior year and put up some impressive numbers for CCHS.  He swung a big bat for the Cougars this past season as he tallied 30 base hits while also posting a batting average of .545 for the year.  Sneed also showed his speed on the basepaths as he was one of the top base stealers in Cincinnati with 24 stolen bases.

For his efforts on the diamond, Sneed was honored as a 1st Team All-Miami Valley Conference selection.  He was also selected as a 2nd Team All-Area honoree for his solid season.

"Avery is a gifted athlete that will strenghten our outfield," said coach Bigam.  "His tremendous speed and ability to steal bases will change games and give opposing catchers fits over the next four years."

Sneed joins a stellar 2011 recruiting class for OCU men's baseball.  The team is reloading after making a post season run where they reached the NCCAA World Series and finished 4th nationally last season.
