Five Blazers Named All Region Baseball; Blevins Player of the Year

The NCCAA All  MidEast Region Team was announced at the conclusion of the regional championship on Wednesday. Junior Michael Blevins was named the Player of the Year for the region which means an automatic birth on the All American Team for 2010. Blevins is hitting 410 with 28 runs batted in on the year and has notched 6 wins on the mound for the Blazers.

Also selected with Blevins, was outfielder Tae Spell hitting 377 with a national leading 23 stolen bases. Infielder Kelton Sines was selected and is hitting 375. Also picked was catcher Max Ray who has caught about every inning for the entire season and is hitting 417 after a 6 of 7 tournament.  The final selection for all region was pitcher Steven Vogelgesang who is 7-3 on the mound and has 63 strike outs which is among the national leaders.

Also, Coach Greg Bigam was selected as regional coach of the year in his first season at the helm of OCU baseball.
