OCU Baseball Signs Dynamic Duo From Cincinnati
CINCINNATI, OH - Head Coach Greg Bigam is pleased to announce the addition of Danarius Williams and Cameron Jones to the OCU men's baseball program. Williams comes to OCU from Withrow High School and Jones is a product of North College Hill High School. The duo will join a strong program that has strong ties to Cincinnati. They will be joining Al Shannon, Avery Sneed, and Zach Mager as OCU players from the Cincinnati area.
Williams was a standout pitcher and first baseman for Withrow under head coach Rodney Spaulding. As a senior he went 4-1 from the mound with a 2.17 era. The hurler also tallied a personal best by striking out 40 batters on the season. Williams was honored as a 1st Team All-League selection for his solid performance.
"I chose OCU because I know it gives me an opportunity to build a strong future for myself," said Williams. "The chance to play baseball while earning a college degree is life changing."
Cameron Jones was a standout outfielder at North College Hill where he played for head coach Brant Trabel. Jones was a talented outfielder and first baseman for the Trojans.
"I chose OCU because the school gives their students opportunities to lead," said Jones. "They focus on developing the total person in addition to training to be the best I can be athletically."
