OCU Plays Close with NCAA Urbana In Final Test Before World Series

URBANA, OH - In their final tune up before the NCCAA World Series, the Trailblazers showed well but lost 2-1 and 5-3 to NCAA Division II affiliate, Urbana University.

In the opener, OCU got clipped by a score of 2-1 in a closely contested matchup.  The Trailblazer offense was led by Ryan McCauley, Jayson Perkins, and Trevor Whitesed who each connected on a pair of base hits in the loss.

In the nightcap, Richie French only allowed 1 earned run in 4 innings.  Offensively, Four Blazers banged out two hits each as OCU out hit Urbana 9-8. Avery Sneed, Trevor Whitesed, Evan Werner, and Tyler Goff each has a pair of hits. Ryan Black and Jayson Perkins notched the Blazers RBI's as OCU fell 5-3.

OCU is back in action on Wednesday as they open the NCCAA World Series against Dallas Christian at 4:00PM.
