Rock Hill Standout Jenkins Jr. Inks with Blazers

IRONTON, OH - Matt Jenkins Jr. has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at OCU.  Jenkins, a standout third baseman, comes to Ohio Christian after a very succesful high school career at Rock Hill Senior High School where he played for head coach Barry Litteral.

Jenkins had a .265 batting average and knocked in 19 RBI's for the Redmen of RHHS this past year.  Jenkins finished his prep career with 5 home runs, including one in the state tournament.  Defensively, Jenkins only committed 2 errors in 23 games at third base, proving to be a cornerstone of the Rock Hill defense.

Jenkins chose OCU over Pikeville College (KY) and Waynesburg College (PA).  "I liked the community atmosphere and family feel that the OCU campus has," said Jenkins.  "From the moment I walked on campus I felt at home like I belong there.  I am looking forward to playing in a college World Series and playing for a National Championship someday soon."
