Blazers Road Wins Finish Out Regular Season

The Trailblazers finished the regular season this weekend in Tennessee 2 and 0.  On Friday night the Blazers took on the Crown College in Powell, TN.  Crown came out with a lot of energy and their fans were very enthusiastic.  OCU's experience, depth and defensive intensity was just too much for the young Crown team with a final score of 92 - 57.  "Rebounding was key for us. Crown is athletic and physical but we beat them on the boards 37 - 21."  Center Michael Baker played well with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  Sophomore guard Mike Farrell also played well with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.  On Saturday the team traveled to Knoxville, TN to take on Johnson Bible College.   "We started a little slow in the first half giving up some uncontested shots and missing some defensive assignments.  With some personnel changes and some waking up we got back on track." Said Coach Christopher.  The team won in the end 85 - 53.  Junior guard Tim baker shot 5 for 6 from the three point line finishing with 23 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.   Freshman Forward Jeremy Hays had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.  "This team now holds the best regular season record in school history 23 - 5.  I am proud of them but our focus now has to be on the post season."   The Trailblazers prepare now for post season play as they get ready for the OCAC regional tournament this next weekend.  OCU will take on OSU-Mansfield in the first round on Thursday.  The Blazers, 8 - 2 in the OCAC , will have the second seed in the tournament behind World Harvest as number one.
