Blazers Roll to 93-77 Win Over Multnomah

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The OCU Trailblazers capped off the last day of the Hersha Hospitality Classic in good form with a 93-77 victory over Multnomah University from Oregon. Multnomah came into the game as one of the top teams in the West Region and has earned a reputation for being a run and gun offense that lives and dies by the three. OCU entered the day looking to rebound from a tough last minute loss to preseason #2 ranked Valley Forge Christian College on Friday night.
Multnomah came out gunning early and built a quick 13-7 lead in the opening minutes. OCU rallied back to take the lead behind a deep bench and strong play by senior forward Mohamed Fall. The OCU defense held tight in the 2nd half to keep the Multnomah offense at bay. Multnomah shot a total of 41 three point shots in the contest but the OCU defense held firm and OCU went on to build a big lead to close out the game with a 16 point advantage.
OCU was led by Fall who tallied 29 points in the win on 12 of 18 shooting. Freshman guard Wesley Russell had the first triple-double of his college career with with 10 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals. Tirrell Cumberland added 14 points for OCU in the win. James Nelson was big in the lane as he scored 8 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Ohio Christian (3-3) is back in action on Tuesday night as they tipoff the OCAC schedule with a home game against Clark State Community College. The game is scheduled for a 7:00PM tip.
