Blazers Sign Three Point Specialist Louis Allen
NYACK, NY - The OCU men's basketball team has announced the transfer addition of Louis Allen to the progam. Allen comes to Ohio Christian after playing two seasons at NCAA Division II affiliate, Nyack College in New York. Allen is originally from Southampton, England and has personal ties to OCU through alumnus and former player, Sam Sisley (Class of 2011).
"Louis Allen is a gifted shooter that will stretch opposing defenses," said coach Stockman. "Louis is also a great person off the court too as he has a strong personal faith, a great work ethic, and tons of leadership potential."
Allen enjoyed a sensational high scool career in England where he averaged 27.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. He also shot at a 40% clip from the three point line as he earned a reputation for being one of the best three point shooters in the area. He then moved on to Canarias Prep School in Spain where he averaged 15.0 points a game, playing against some of the top talent in the region.
Allen had a breakout freshman season after signing with Nyack College in New York. In his first season with the Warriors, Allen led the team in scoring on three different occasions as he started in 16 of 26 contests . He tallied a career high 25 points against Pace University as he drained 7 three point field goals to lead his team to a one point win. On the season he averaged 6.3 points in 20.3 minutes of play. Allen was awarded the prestigious Warrior Award and Christian Leadership award at the conclusion of his sophomore year.
"I am extremely happy to sign with OCU," said Allen. "I hope I can bring some experience to the team after playing at the NCAA level for two years. I am excited to play for a coaching staff and school that values a strong faith and commitment to Christ."
