Blazers Sweep OU-C and Clark State Over the Weekend

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU men took care of business on the road over the weekend as the Trailblazers came away with a pair of convincing wins over OU-Chillicothe on Friday night and Clark State on Saturday.

The Blazers got things started at OUC on Friday evening as they jumped out to an early 40-17 lead in the opening 10 minutes of the game to lead the Hilltoppers.  OCU would take a 65-40 lead into the locker room.  The 2nd half was more of the same as Ohio Christian scored 100 points with ten minutes remaining in the game.   The Blazers would cruise to a 125-87 victory as every player scored in the game for OCU.  

OCU was led by Mo Fall with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Kenny Cooper made a big contribution with a career high of 21 points on 9 of 9 shooting from the field.  Milen Kostov and Wesley Russell each tossed in 13 points for the Blazers.  James Nelson added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the win.  The Blazers shot a blistering 57.8% from the field as they shot 45 of 78.

On Saturday, the Blazers headed to Clark State as they looked to sweep the season series with the Eagles.  OCU struggled from the field in the game but limited Clark State to 35 points in the contest as the host Eagles were held to 25.9% shooting on the day.  

OCU used a strong transition game in the first half to take a 37-17 lead into halftime.  OCU used a zone defense in the 2nd half and went deep to the bench as the Blazers cruised to a 61-35 victory despite only shooting 1 of 13 from three point range.  

Ohio Christian was led by Mo Fall who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.  Tirrell Cumberland added 11 points and 3 assists.  Wesley Russell added 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting.  Josh Delph contributed defensively with a game high 5 steals as the OCU defense tallied a total of 18 steals in the gasme.

The Blazers (8-7) are back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Cincinnati to take on Ohio Mid-Western College.  The game is set for a 7:00PM tip.
